The Selection Process

The applicant should submit the following attachments:

  • S.A.E.F. Application Form (download here)
  • Official academic transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • One copy of the graduation diploma
  • Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results
  • Three letters of recommendation from his/her university professors
  • One letter of recommendation from his/her employer, if the student has been employed for a year or more. (Optional – If the applicant chooses not to submit a letter of recommendation from his/her employer, such applicant should submit a statement as to the reason why he/she did not include such a recommendation.)
  • Statement of career interest in the intended area of graduate studies (1500 word limit)
  • A copy of the acceptance letter from one of the California universities with which S.A.E.F. has an agreement (see list of universities ) and in an S.A.E.F. accepted major (see list of Areas of Graduate Study ).

  • Closing Date

    The closing date for applications is March 31, 2013. Only complete applications with the required attachments submitted by this date will be considered. If you have not received an admission from the universities by the above stated deadline, submit your application anyway and let us know when to expect news of your admission.
    The Scholarship Committee meets after all the applications have been considered, and applicants are informed of the results shortly thereafter.
    Admission is typically extremely competitive with only a small number of outstanding students selected each year from a large pool of qualified applicants.
